so, right now, we have the canopy done, and the top side of the fuse done. the bottome side is pretty much done, but, i have a stumbling point right here. someone got a little dremel happy and made some notches where they shouldn't be... this hole is where the engine backplate sits. and, because dan is going to run a governor, he needed room for the sensor. just the sensor poking out would have looked a little odd, so, he cut the hole for the entire backplate. oops! didn't mean to say who messed up the hole!!!!
i'm headed out of town this weekend to visit mrs. schluterdude's grandparent's. so, this will be at the top of the list when i get back... then, the body will be done, and we can start the fun stuff!!!

May I suggest using an optical sensor or a hall effect sensor with magnets on the cooling fan instead of the backplate sensor. That thing sticking out of the bottom of the heli isn't going to look right. And rest assured, Rock will be the first to point that out.

it just barely sticks out. kinda sucks.. but, the hole is cut, and everything already mounted on the mechanics which i assume dan has been test flying to make sure everything is nice and silky smooth so that he doesn't shake the living snot out of the body....

Looking at the Hirobo it's just a tad below. If you could make a 90 degree turn in the wiring it be a go. How bout a spotlight there to take away the distraction. Just throwing ideas out.

Wow Schluterdude, I guess revenge is sweet. I feel like you posted a baby picture of me naked getting a bath in the kitchen sink when you showed the bottom of that body. I thought that would be our secret.
I’m also thinking that cbflys might be right. That hole should help keep the inside of the body cool and should stay but magnets on the fan would be a better job. I don’t think I want to get involved in hiding it with a search light as Vermonster suggests. That would just become something else for me to break off. I’ll look at the frame tonight and see how much work it is to take it apart and install magnets. Right now it is ready to go, just waiting for the back plate sensor so it boils down to how lazy I want to be.
