The HDX450SE from Helidirect comes in kit form and requires asssembly. 99% of all parts are compatible with the T-rex range and parts are inexpensive which is a big plus. Thankfully the head and tail assembly has already been put together and the main body is easily put together. My kit didn't come with detailed instructions, but for anyone who needs additional assembly instructions, there are a complete set of build & set-up videos available to view at www.helifreaks.com compiled by "Finless" Bob.

This was my first ever heli build and it all went very smoothly, any point i wasnt clear on, i simply watched the online videos.

The body is made using a new material, very similar to circuit board material and has some very good independent reviews which puts it above carbon fibre.

The kit came with an Otter 35a ESC and HDX450 brushless motor and carbon fibre main blades- you have to add everything else needed to fly, i.e servos, gyros, battery, radio etc

I used Futaba HS56s and a Gy401 for the tail.

The build actually came to complete standstill at one point as the servo arms require the addition of ball joints before you can connect the servos to the swash plate and these balls are not included with the kit. If you buy this heli, be sure to get these linkage balls, they are only a few cents each and you need three.

The supplied white canopy needs some trimming to complete and also came with an additional blue windscreen which is easily added.

The heli looks awesome when completed and the all alliminium parts make this heli stand out from the crowd. It is rock solid and i am looking forward to many many flights.
