All Things considered I would call myself a begginer even though I have some stick time under my belt. I had a 30 size heli about 4 years ago but didn't have any luck, I think my problem was my set-up. I gave up the sport but have returned to try once again. I thought I would go small because I did not want a huge investment, so the Blade CP PRO it is. I got it a couple of days ago and have about 5 flights. It's not the most stable machine in the world but I don't expect a miro heli to be from what I have read. I chared the batteries and took it on it's maiden voyage. It was late so I flew it in my garage, not the best idea but I'm not exactly a patient person. So I run up the motor and tried to gently lift off the ground and to my suprise, IT WORKS! (more on my past experiences at a later time). I jumped up and down a bit but for the most part I could hold a fairly slowpy hover.(i have also flown quite a bit on the sim so I'm sure this aided me). I don't know that this is the best heli for a begginer but the price is right and if I can keep it in the air then anyone can learn.
Now the important stuff
OUT OF THE BOX: As advertised it was READY TO FLY I made no changes to the model what so ever, even the blades were tracking true!
RADIO: Impresive for the price and lots of options,6ch (4chs w/reversing), idle up throtle curve adjustment, trainer switch and and if you want to add a heading hold gyro you can contol the gain via the 5th channel proportional knob.
INSTURCTIONS: NO FLYING INSTRUCTIONS, it is not advertised as a begginer machine so they expect you now how to fly. As for the adjustments(radio and heli) the instructions are adequate.
FLYING: Like I said before it could be more stable and after a few flights I made some adjustments to the tail rotor mixing. This helped out a great deal. The more I fly it the more stable I become, so the instability might just be me. I tried hovering with the throttle up and the adjustment at 100% and it really help in setting the rudder trim.
MECHANICAL: After 5 or so flights the only thing I have run into is securing the tail rotor gear after it bounced on the floor. (it is held on with fuel tubing). Everything else is going strong and I see no evidence of parts failing.
All things considered I would buy this machine again. If you have any time behind the sticks of a heli you should be able to handle it, if you take it slow. |

• LiPoly BAT. w/ heli (10 min flight time at hover) • Quality radio w/ great options • Truly READY TO FLY |
• You will have to buy an ac wall adapter to charge the battery from an ac outlet ($29.99) |

| Bought my CP pro after mastering my CX-2 and anyway how hard could it be?, very tough is the answer, extremely hot cyclic response and they are set up very badly from the factory, trims miles away and nothing tracked. Battery placement is critical on these tiny beasts and to help tame her down i would recommend additional weights on the fly bar. I continued to struggle to hover and fly and eat my way through the wooden blades, a tip, buy plastic blades and get used to bending main gears and the blade grip pins, oh and buy the training gear, looking back i should have invested in a simulator first which i now have, seems backwards but i didnt believe the cp pro would be so tough to fly, i also now have a honey bee king 2 which is cheaper and easier to fly and a t-rex 450, phew. |

 |
• kit quality • parts availability • price |
• poor factory setup • should come with plastic blades and spare tail motor • tail motors very very weak, went through too many |

Could never get this to fly right. I went through several main blades ad couldn't get it to be enjoyable.
I sold it and invested on a T-Rex 450 and my WHAT A DIFFERENCE!
I guess as the saying goes.... " You get what you pay for." |

This is a intermediate to expert level heli. It should not be used by a novice unless you have deep pockets, lots of extra time, and like repairing heli's. This was my first real heli ( havoc heli wa my first) and learned that it was not for my skill level. Bought a Blade CX and sim after going though quite a few sets of blades. With my newly aquired knowledge of heli repairs, how and why things work, orientation for the CX and sim, I could hover. but could not keep it stable nor could I keep it from bouncing up and down. Checking on forum's and others I figured out the main shaft was bent.
New main shaft, new flat bottom main blades, balanced rear tail blade, new rear tail motor (replaced after another crash), proper blade tracking ( thank you RC Heli) and double checking the heli it now fly's great. Hovering can be done hands free ( fews seconds and with no wind). This is a very good heli with lots of potential in the proper hands. The cp pro is not a scale heli, for windy days, or for a novice. It's for 3D, stunts, and just flying, for the enjoyment of this sport.
Tail motor is not a strong point .
The main shaft is pretty easy to replace and requires it to be changed or at least checked after every crash. Weight will affect this heli. Heat sinks, HH gyro, and even the training gear can be felt when flying, but are required.
The box it comes in makes a great carring case.
Invest in the wall plug for the charger.
It tracked great out of the box.
hovered great, first few flights till I crashed.
Main shaft was bent, which didn't allow for great flying experience.
Instructions are for intermediate to expert, basic's are not covered. blade cp PRO.
Tx is basic 6 ch. but feels good in your hands.
Adjustments to tail motor mixing is very little after replacing tail motor.
tracking adjustments are needed after replacing main blades and main shaft, after a crash.
Blade grip screws need to be checked before flight.
Over all I like this heli and would buy it again.
Experience is a must!
Once a CX/CX2 has been mastered a cp pro would be the next step.
Just take it slow, it will come to you. |
